Terms of Service

Last updated: May 31, 2026

These Terms govern your use of CryptoVol, a data-subscription service available at www.cryptovol.io. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. We've written them to be readable, not maximally lawyer-proof — if you need a vendor-grade contract, email us and we'll work with your paper.

1. The service

CryptoVol provides a REST API and Python SDK that return calibrated implied-volatility surfaces, options Greeks (delta, gamma, vega, theta), forwards, realized vol, and related analytics for major cryptocurrency derivatives (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, AVAX, TRX). We also operate an AI chat assistant ("Quanta") that translates natural-language questions into API calls.

2. Your account

You sign up via email (Clerk-managed authentication). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API key confidential. You may not share an API key with anyone outside your organization, resell access, or sublicense the service. We may rotate or revoke keys if we detect abuse.

3. Subscription plans

We offer three tiers — BASIC (free), PRO ($49/month), and ULTRA ($99/month). Tier features and rate limits are listed on the pricing page. Paid subscriptions auto-renew monthly until you cancel. Billing runs through Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices are quoted in US Dollars.

You can switch between paid tiers at any time. Upgrades (PRO → ULTRA) are charged immediately on a prorated basis — you pay only for the unused remainder of the current month at the new price, minus credit for the unused portion of the old price. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal.

4. Cancellation and refunds

We aim to be fair in both directions. The policy is simple:

Example. You pay $49 for PRO on day 1 of the month. You cancel on day 10. You've used 10 of the 30 days in that period, so we refund $49 × 20/30 ≈ $32.67 to your card. PRO access ends immediately and your account drops back to BASIC.

If you believe you should be refunded outside these rules (billing error, double charge, service outage you couldn't use through, etc.), reply to your most recent invoice email or write to support@cryptovol.io and we'll make it right.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of this section, without refund where the violation is willful or fraudulent.

6. Data and intellectual property

The data we deliver is calibrated by us from publicly-available exchange data. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it within your own applications, internal analytics, research, and trading. You retain ownership of anything you build with it. We retain ownership of the data assembly, calibration methodology, the chat assistant's prompts and tooling, and the CryptoVol brand.

7. Not financial advice

All data, analytics, charts, blog posts, and chat-assistant output are provided for informational and research purposes only. Nothing on CryptoVol constitutes financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. Crypto derivatives are risky and you can lose money. You are solely responsible for any trading or investment decisions you make.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. Volatility calibration involves modeling assumptions; consumers of the data should perform their own validation appropriate to their use case.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CryptoVol's total cumulative liability arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100). We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including lost profits, trading losses, or data loss — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Termination

You may terminate by deleting your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend service for any reason on reasonable notice — except for abuse or violation of Section 5, where we may act immediately. On termination we cancel your subscription, apply the prorated refund described in Section 4, anonymize your billing record (kept for tax compliance), and delete your account data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

13. Contact

These terms are intended to be a fair and readable agreement, not legal advice. For your own peace of mind, consider having your counsel review them before relying on them in any commercial context.
